A Victorian gold filled double slide expanding gentleman's watch fob chain. This 9-1/4" (maximum) chain shrinks to 6-1/8" when the two engraved slides are separated (which contracts the chain forming a double chain between them, shown partly drawn in our second image). It has a t-bar and a swivel as well as two textured balls which act as stops for the slides. It is stamped W.LH.&Co. on the swivel and it is a neat bit of Victorian ingenuity. It is in excellent antique condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. Besides being a handsome style of chain, it would also make an attractive bracelet. A scarce 19th century ironstone 6-3/8" plate in the scarce Canadian pattern retailed and signed by F.T. Thomas, Quebec, Canada. This brown transfer plate features a view of Montmorency Fall Winter View and it has the pattern's beaver, vine and flower border. A Victorian 9k rose gold watch chain & fob with a seal end 1897. This 4" fob chain and 3/4" long seal are fully hallmarked - it is all solid gold. The 9/16" x 7/16" seal has a full set of hallmarks for Birmingham, England 1897 (probably, since the year date is slightly worn); each link is stamped 9 .375, and the swivel is stamped as well. A Vict. gp & mop fancy spring extendable watch chain. This truly unusual 12" spring-loaded expanding Victorian gold plated over brass watch chain has with mother of pearl sections. This 1/2" wide chain features engraved round links with pierced loops, round thick plain loops and designed flattened patterned loops; it also has two spring-loaded segments with mother-of-pearl inserted sections. Each spring segment has engraving and finely made pivots and channels for the expansion spring; one has what appears to be either an old repair or for some other purpose, possibly a hanging component. It has one original swivel and one that has been added later; it has no identifying marks of any kind. We haven't seen a chain of this style before, and we've seen hundreds. An excellent curiosity. This impressive and ornate English silver plate steeplechase award cup stands 8-1/8" high and 4-3/8" across and this award trophy is in the shape of a goblet or footed cup. This unmarked beauty features high repousse decoration with fruit and scrolling and it has two cartouches with engraved dedications. One side says WINNER OF R.A.C. This 1/4" wide hollow bangle features engraving on the front half which extends to the ends of the unengraved back side. It has a hinge, a box clasp and a safety chain. A Scottish sterling silver banded agate sword and shield brooch pin dated 1863. Although a common form this example is one of the most ornate and best constructed we have seen. It measures 2-3/4 x 1", the silver is deeply and intricately tooled and the cut and polished banded agates are well matched and are gray (or grey), white and blue striped. The shield is mounted by wire pins through loops on the sword back and most unusual is a hand-etched British hallmark shield with the letter and number cyphers indicating a manufacturing date of Dec. 6, 1863. This item is in excellent condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a bend to the C from the original c-clasp (easily straightened). This 12-1/4" man's accessory has a t-bar and a swivel and the decorative and fancy slide and ends all have hand engraving.
