A Fukagawa double gourd vase 1900-20. This fine quality and likely late vintage Meiji-Taishō era 4-3/8" tall Japanese porcelain hand painted vase is by the renowned Fukagawa Porcelain Company firm of Japan c1900-20. This vase has a blue tassel and two painted small floral groups in gold, green, orange and black. There is a gold upper rim. The mark is the Mount Fuji and stream with the Fukagawa signature, identified on gotheborg.com as being is used from 1900-20. We were also informed this was purchased in the 1920s. The darkness under the base is old glue from an applies felt bottom which is no longer present (we will clean the glue residue before shipment). An Edwardian Art Deco sterling silver barrel step cut crystal necklace from around 1920. This beauty features a fine open wire link 16" chain with a hook and eye clasp. The 1-1/4 x 5/8" unmarked pendant features a step-cut rounded barrel style crystal stone claw-set on a mount with an array of white rhinestones. The chain is stamped STER and it weighs 6.2 grams. A Chisolm Model C1 flip down toaster from the 1930s. This scarce and unusual chrome plated and wood two sided flip down electric toaster is by W.C. Chisholm Mfg. Co. of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This toaster has wooden handles and painted wooden sides on the base; it also has heavy springs keeping the doors shut. The heat wire wrapped mica plates are intact as is the cloth-wrapped original cord. It has a detachable top with a wood handle (possibly for keeping toast warm). It works just fine with lots and lots of heat, and it is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor paint loss to the base wood. We have lightly cleaned it however it still has some grime and stains, all of which can be polished out if you want to spend the time. Before Rolling Stone turned into an irrelevant pile of commercial crap over 40 years ago, it was at the vanguard of the "Underground Press" - a crude newspaper devoted to the counterculture, drugs, music, uncensored political and sexual expression and all things Hippie. Fortunately, being Canadian, the Georgia Straight of Vancouver carried on the anarchistic torch for a few years after RS gave it up, giving us a ribald and unfettered underground newspaper sold in the British Columbia area. From r-rated underground comics (the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers (FFFB) by Gilbert Shelton, Fat Freddie's Cat, and others) to interviews with counterculture icons, this paper is a window on a long-gone world of late 1960s ideals (it started around the same time as RS in 1967). A Victoria Austria R.S. Prussia ornate lustre teapot. This antique Edwardian bone china porcelain teapot with a floral and lustre finish c1910 stands 6-3/4" high to the top of the fancy finial and it measures 7-5/8" from the spout to the edge of the handle. It was made (and stamped by) Victoria Austria who bought blanks for factory decoration - in this case a genuine R.S. Prussia blank. A Loetz Crete Papillon 7" Czech art glass green vase 1890 1900. This period vase has the famous Papillon finish in green (Crete) and this line was introduced in 1898. It has a tapered 3-1/8" across girdle and 2-5/8" base. It is in very good condition with no cracks, wear or repairs however there is a 1/4" rim chip mostly affecting the inside of the rim with minimal impact to the outside - this vase can be ground down to eliminate the chip if you are so inclined.
