A detailed intaglio Laws Scottish family crest sterling silver seal ring from 1900-1930. This vintage size 7 ring features the family crest from the Laws family with a cockerel atop the shield and the quote from Horace (30 BCE) "COMPOSITUM JUS TASQUE ANIMI" which has various translations referring to justice, uprightness and nobility of the soul (one version states "A mind which respects alike the laws of mutual justice and of god"). It is a true seal ring, with the crest in reverse so it will appear correct on the actual seal. It is shown reversed in one of our images so you can read it. This classic gentleman's pinky ring is stamped STERLING. It has signs of an earlier resizing which likely caused the sterling mark to be barely visible in the last two letters and no maker's mark is presentand it weighs 11.8 grams. This 435 caliber high quality retro wind-up manual wristwatch has a single-sunk second hand dial, full Roman numerals and a gold plate L-CRUSADER-3 expansion band with triple segment alternating convex and concave links. The movement features 17 jewels with rubies and it has a 750468 serial number and all of the proper markings. The Star Watch Case Company base metal back has the 434-474 numbers and a 110711 serial number as well as various service etchings. A signed Sherman curved 3 colour rhinestones aurora borealis bracelet from the 1950s. Bracelets with a curved semicircular profile are scarce and this example flashes brilliantly. It measures 7-1/4 x 5/8", the stones are all claw set and it closes with a box clasp. The stones range from light brown marquise shaped stones to deep yellow round with a multitude of pink aurora borealis stones. It is gold plated, it is stamped SHERMAN on the clasp and it is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than the replacement of two small AB rhinestones which are more blue than the original pink stones. The original safety chain is missing however the loops remain if you want to replace it. A superbly rendered and vividly coloured lifetime woodblock print by the famed Japanese artist Kawase Kasui (1883-1957), entitled "Meguro-Fudo-Do" (Fudo Temple in Meguro). First published in 1931, this is an artist's lifetime strike from the late 1940s to the early 1950s. This print is Oban size (14-1/4" x 9-1/2" image size, 19-3/4" x 14-1/4" frame size). It has the 6 mm. red seal of the publisher Watanabe Shozaburo (seal used from 1946-57). It comes in a red painted bamboo-style frame from that time period, with framing notations on the backing cardboard as well as the original Eaton's frame department sticker. This item has strong colours and the print is in excellent condition with no losses, tears, foxing, fading, damage or repairs. There is some flaking of the red paint on the frame (the shiny paint is about 50% gone however the red stain and black painted highlights remain), and some minor yellowing to the paper from age, not affecting the image. A huge Gouda Roma art pottery vase from the Royal Zuid works circa 1950s. This Dutch pottery vase is in white, black and gold. This example is quite large - it stands 7-7/8" high and it is 7-3/4" across at its widest. It has the gold hand written mark for Royal Zuid and it has an artist's signature and a 3125 pattern number. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, crazing, chips, losses, damage or repairs.
