A 14k yellow gold large natural large oval opal ring circa 1970s. This vintage size 6 ring was custom made, and the colorful genuine opal gem stone section measures 1/2" x 5/8" . The carat weight calculator indicates the stone is approximately 2.4 carats as measured in setting. The flash has green and blue highlights with a nice internal red fire. The mark was too worn to read, and the ring tests as 14 K. It weighs 3.7 grams. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a very faint surface scratch as seen in the pictures which appears more obvious here from the halogen-lit photographic lighting used than it does in real life. A 12K Egyptian rose gold genuine yellow topaz ring. This vintage size 6-1/2 or 6.5 genuine topaz solitaire has gold hallmark for Egypt. The date mark may be for 1943 -1944, but that may vary by city where assayed. The claw-set stone is a rectangular faceted or emerald cut, and is a definite yellow with very slight brown under-tone, and has an excellent clarity. The topaz measures 11.5mm x 9.1mm and has a depth of 7.3mm, so it is slightly over 5 carats in size. The ring weighs 3.2 grams. We also tested the ring, and it appears to be closer to 14K, but is being sold according to its assay mark. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. Condition details are noted, and items have signs of use as expected.
