A detailed intaglio Laws Scottish family crest sterling silver seal ring from 1900-1930. This vintage size 7 ring features the family crest from the Laws family with a cockerel atop the shield and the quote from Horace (30 BCE) "COMPOSITUM JUS TASQUE ANIMI" which has various translations referring to justice, uprightness and nobility of the soul (one version states "A mind which respects alike the laws of mutual justice and of god"). It is a true seal ring, with the crest in reverse so it will appear correct on the actual seal. It is shown reversed in one of our images so you can read it. This classic gentleman's pinky ring is stamped STERLING. It has signs of an earlier resizing which likely caused the sterling mark to be barely visible in the last two letters and no maker's mark is presentand it weighs 11.8 grams. A 14k white gold man's diamond with black onyx bullseye ring by Birks from the late 1930s 1950. This vintage size 7 men's ring by Birks Canada has a central 21 point genuine diamond which has a round black onyx stone bezel set around the centre stone. It is stamped BIRKS and 14 K and another mark. The whole ring is white gold, and was custom made at Birks. The ring comes with an independent gemologist's appraisal for $2000CAN. The diamond measures 21 points (measured in setting) and is SI-1 clarity and I-J colour. There are two quite minutes chips at the bezel, visible only with a loupe, and this was mentioned in the appraisal of $2000 CAD. Established in 1924 this school added "District" to the name in 1953 and amalgamated in 1968 to become the John Diefenbaker Secondary School. This 5/8 x 9/16" wide ring features the school crest with yellow and cobalt blue enamel, which doubtless are the school colours and it also has their school motto "ENTER TO LEARN GO FORTH TO SERVE". School rings haven't been made this way for many years. A Chinese silver scenic links bracelet from the 1920s. This unmarked (but tested) silver 7-3/8 x 1" bracelet features six curved high relief hand tooled links depicting a dragon, historical figures and flowers. It has a pushbutton box clasp and loops for a safety chain (not present) and it probably dates to the 1920s but it may be earlier. It weighs 35.6 grams and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than the missing safety chain. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. An Edwardian Art Deco sterling silver barrel step cut crystal necklace from around 1920. This beauty features a fine open wire link 16" chain with a hook and eye clasp. The 1-1/4 x 5/8" unmarked pendant features a step-cut rounded barrel style crystal stone claw-set on a mount with an array of white rhinestones. The chain is stamped STER and it weighs 6.2 grams. It is in the transitional style when Edwardian design was becoming Art Deco around 1920, and this necklace is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the splitting and twisting together of one wire link anchoring the pendant to the chain (it was probably free-swining on the chain originally).
