A Victorian period 15k yellow gold, enamel & natural pearl large Victorian mourning pin c1860 with an insert with hair. This (unmarked but tested and guaranteed) 15K yellow gold brooch consists of a raised fancy scrollwork front with black enamel, a circle of high quality and lustre natural pearls surrounding a central crystal enclosed compartment with a swirl of medium-brown hair, and a polished mother of pearl backing under the nicely arranged lock of hair. It measures 2-1/2" x 2", it closes with a c-clasp with its original extended pin, and it has a loop for hanging as a pendant. The unusual mother of pearl backing has wonderful pink and green fire, and this pin weighs a substantial 37.4 grams. It is in very good original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, corrosion, repairs or damage other than that one end is a bit dented upwards, and there is a small scrape to the enamel. An impressive Regency period 15k gold long necklace with ornate slide c1830-40. This superb example measures 62" long, it has a large well-made slide with black enamel, and it is constructed of double pulley-style interlinked gold loops. The 1" across and 1/4" thick slide has an engraved L. Gordon inscription on one side; it is unmarked and unsigned but tests as 15k gold. The slide has holes where a scarab or possibly a cameo was mounted (and another piece of your choice could be mounted on it), and it weighs an impressive 59.0 grams (almost 2 ounces!). This item is in otherwise fine condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the absent slide decoration and open chain end. An important Canadian Group of 7 oil on panel by Francis Hans - Franz or Frank - Johnston OSA, ARCA (Canadian, 1888-1949) titled "Pools of Spring". Born in Toronto, he was a founding member of the renowned Toronto painters known as the Group of Seven, which he left by 1926. He became a principal of the Winnipeg School of Art and later the Ontario College of Art. He changed his signature to "Franz" in 1927 on the advice of a friend. He was the most productive and financially successful of the Group of Seven, painting steadily until he suffered a stroke in 1948. His work shows his love of the Canadian landscape and his fascination with light. His highly sought after works are on exhibition in the McMaster Collection, the Art Gallery of Ontario and the National Gallery of Canada (General Collection and War Gallery Collection), among others. This painting has a sight size of 24" x 20" and the original painted frame, which measures 31" x 26-3/4". This painting has an inscription on the back saying "POOLS of SPRING Source of the Oroman Early April by Franz Johnston A.R.C.A." and this work of art has also been authenticated in writing by a leading Toronto fine arts auction house. It is in excellent original condition with no craquelure, rips, soiling, fading, losses, damage or repairs other than a few tiny flecks to the gilt surface of the frame. Two of the forks are hallmarked Edinburgh 1857-58, and four are hallmarked Edinburgh 1881-2. They are all the same size (8" in length and 1 1/16" at the widest), they average 75 grams each, and all have what appears to be a beaver rampant crest. The maker is the same - RG - who may possibly be either R. Green or R. Grierson of Edinburgh. They are all in excellent condition with no worn spots, pitting or damage, & none have been initialled. They show only very minor & expected surface scratches that come from ordinary use, and all are in excellent condition for their age. - $125 ea

A Vict. gf watch chain with a 12k banded agate fob. This gold plated late Victorian period 16-1/8" watch chain has a 12K gold and agate fob and it dates to the 1890s. It has a swivel and spring-ring, with a suspended t-bar on a 1-3/4" chain. It has a barrel shaped 1" x 7/16" genuine banded agate fob mounted with 12k yellow gold ends (unmarked but tested). This octagonal facetted stone fob is mounted on two 7/8" gold filled chains and is attached to the main chain by a 7/8" link drop. This chain is finer an more delicate than the usual, and would make a great necklace. It is in excellent antique condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a few barely visible nicks to the stone's edges and a bit of gold wear to the swivel. An 18K white gold filigree Art Deco diamond ring from the 1920s. This size 5-3/4 vintage ring features a high-set genuine 15 point antique brilliant cut diamond with excellent clarity and color. The stone is measured in setting, so approximate. The openwork is attractive and the shoulder/sides are also ornate. It measures 1/4" x 1/4" across the setting surface. The band has a uniform thick profile but a thin width. It is stamped 18K (twice) and it weighs 1.9 grams. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion or damage. A lovely lady's Ryrie (later Birks) hanging watch in 9k rose gold c1910. This 1-1/8" diameter watch features a single sunk seconds dial, blued hands and black Roman numerals and a large hinged rectangular loop for hanging. The face is marked RYRIE, and the case is stamped with London, England import gold marks with a 109926 serial number. The 15/16" (24 mm.) diameter works are stamped 3326279 RYRIE VERNON 15 JEWELS; Vernon was Ryrie's quality gold watch line and they used Waltham works according to archive catalogues. This watch is suspended from a 10k yellow gold pin featuring the three loop Rebekah lodge symbol. The pin has a safety catch, and this pin and watch measures 2-1/4 x 1-1/4" in total. It weighs 18.2 grams, and this watch runs and keeps time, however we recommend that all timepieces be professionally cleaned and adjusted. A 14K blue topaz and amethyst hoop design pair of earrings circa 1970s. These vintage yellow gold pierced hoops are set with genuine blue topaz and amethyst gem stones. Each vintage double hoop earring measures 1-1/2" diameter and 1/8" thick. They weigh 8.1 grams. They are stamped 14K on the ear wire (too small to photograph). February birthstone is amethyst and march is aquamarine,so this color combination works for both birthstone months. Great dramatic earrings. An exquisite and original Victorian watercolour botanical study in its original mahogany frame c1860-70. This oval section of the painting measures 9" x 7", and it is a watercolour painting of a moss rose. It has a double mat (possibly original), and the 17" x 15" reeded edge frame has the original patterned gilded interior frame and it has the original 19thC glass. It is unsigned but of lovely quality, and the watercolour is in excellent original condition with no rips, scrapes, fading, foxing, stains, losses, damage or repairs other some slight darkening of the paper. There is an irregular look of the finish in each corner of the frame, which most likely was from someone removing some corner decorative pieces to the frame (leaving a slight roughness to the surface at each corner) and some browning to the mat, which has a pale olive green colour unlike our photographs. There is also a long sliver chip to the frame, visible to the left side of the bottom of the frame. Please note the light reflections in the closeup - these are not creases in the paper, but only a reflection of the photography. A 5-5/8" long sterling silver honey serving spoon and 4-1/8" sugar tongs in the Tudor Scroll flatware pattern, introduced by Birks in 1919 - it had been out of production for some time.
