Each bears the D&F CZECHOSLOVAKIA mark of EPIAG PROESCHOLD & CO. and one plate has a 10661Y design number. A pair of Qing Dynasty Chinese blue and white deep plates from the 1730-1795 era, or possibly earlier. These rare ~9" across survivors are hand painted in blue on a grey ground, and they have the brown Batavian edge glaze. These Qianlong plates are 1-1/4" deep and they have the expected glaze frit, tiny glaze burns, pitting and flaws except for a 1/4" upper rim chip and central burst bubble central glaze flake on one bowl and a 1/4" chip under the rim on the other. Overall they are in fine condition with no cracks, major flaws, repairs or wear, and they would be a fine addition to your Chinese blue and white collection. A wonderful antique decorative pair of oval ornate Victorian period sterling silver bowls or baskets, fully hallmarked London, England 1895-96. These high style late Victorian dishes measure 6-3/4" x 5", and are just over 1" deep. They have high relief repousse Gothic designs and pierce-work panels, and they have a W.R.C. maker's mark for William Richard Corke. There is also a British registry number stamped in the rim of both bowls - it looks like RD. 248864. They are heavier than the usual pierce-work English sterling dishes you normally find from this period - one basket weighs 81 grams, and the other 83 grams - and are a lovely quality pair of dishes. Other than a few minor rim bends, they are overall in excellent vintage condition, with no dents, monograms, corrosion, repairs or damage. It is an open edge, so this is restorable. A pair of Roden (Birks) sterling 1930s napkin rings. Roden (of Toronto) was bought out by Birks in 1928. These 5/8" wide sterling napkin ring measures 1-3/4" across and they have the Roden maker's mark and STERLING. Birks bought all Roden's inventory and parts and molds, and the Roden mark can be seen on some Birks silver items until several years after. They weighs 13.0 grams and they are in excellent vintage condition with no breaks, bends, corrosion, losses, or repairs. One has a very shallow Janie monogram and the other is blank. A pair of (typically) unmarked Majestic Japanned wood and brass table lamps c1950s. The black painted wood includes the 7 x 4-1/2" base with a crescent moon mounted on the brass upright with a brass ball separating it from the base. They stand 17-1/2" tall including the 12 x 6-1/2" shades, which are of fiberglass with plastic stringing on the borders and a wire cage for mounting on the lightbulb. They have their original cords with Leviton sockets with inspection stickers, and both lamps work. This pair of fine Retro decorative lamps is in excellent condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor loss to the gold-plated finish over the brass and one small touched-up chip on the tip of one crescent. A pair of Lucknow solid silver sweetmeat or bonbon bowls from the Indian Raj period circa 1880 1890. These superbly detailed antique high grade silver 4-7/8" x 4" bowls have a graceful fluted rim. They feature gilt interiors and fine hammered wildlife scenes around the exterior depicting panthers, elephants, birds, dogs, rabbits and others, all with a backdrop of palm trees and tropical foliage. The design is a classic Lucknow silver design of this period, and interior gilding was seen more commonly then also. They have a large hand-tooled peacock figure on the bottom of each bowl, (which is most likely the silversmith's mark), and they test as very high grade silver. These bowls weigh 174 grams in total, and they are in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a tiny notch on the upper edge of one bowl from the testing of the silver content. A pair of so-called Whimsey glass vases c1900. Glass whimseys, or end-of-day glass, were made at the end of the day's glass production by glassmakers using leftover glass; these items were usually taken home and given as gifts. Many forms were produced, including glass canes, figurines and artistic objects. This pair is made of amber and citrene coloured glass with white highlights and ribbon decoration. They are unsigned and the amber vase has a hook so it can be hung on a wall; the other sits on a table. The hanging vase measures 6-7/8" from top to bottom and the yellowish table vase is 4-1/2" from the edge of the trumpet to the edge of the stem. A pair of gilt brass roses metalwork table lamps with marble bases from the 1930s 1940s. These beauties stand 25-3/4" to the tops of the original finials and the bases are genuine black veined marble. They may actually date from the 1920s and they have been rewired and resocketed. The pleated silk shades shown are later (and were on the lamps when we acquired them) and they can be included if you wish (they have minor staining/spotting) but that will raise the shipping costs substantially. The antiqued patination is intact but attractively mellowed and the metalwork could use a good, gentle cleaning. A large pair of European 19thC porcelain figural centerpiece swan bowls. Made as dining room table decorations with an open center for flowers, fruit, etc., these large and beautifully detailed swans are possible German in origin (both are unmarked). This antique matched pair of 2 gravy or sauce servers measure 7" from the lip to the edge of the handle and they stand 3-3/4" tall to the handle's top; they have the maker's mark for Martin Hall & Co. A pair of early Staffordshire figurines of eagles on vermicular or marble painted bases from 1820-1850. These well modelled heavily gilded 19thC English earthenware eagles are 7-3/4" tall. Both have tilted heads and back-stretched wings. They have purple, yellow and orange marble-like painting on the simple rectangular shape bases. The mustard yellow rocky perches have a blue flower. They not signed with a manufacturer's stamp, unfortunately fairly common with Staffordshire figures. They are in very good, but not undamaged condition. One is undamaged with only a firing crack, which is original to the manufacture of the figurines (see image), and the other has had the lower portion of one wing and the head re-glued. Some wear to the gilding. The breaks and repair are quite clean and it could be restored professionally. The only pair of Staffordshire eagles I have owned in over 40 years selling antiques. The firing crack is very small with only small expected disturbances (including slight browning to the beak of one eagle) which don't detract from the appeal of these unusual figurines. A pair of antique Dutch china wedding bowls circa 1865. This nice set of wedding bowls dates to 1865 and they were made to commemmorate the wedding of Dirk Hoogedorn to Agije Brink on April 30, 1865. An ornate 11-1/4" boxed pair of matching sterling silver salad servers, made by Wm. Hutton & Sons of Sheffield, England in 1906. These servers are of heavy construction, and the shanks of the bowls are heavily tooled with an attractive design. The 14-3/4 x 5-1/4" black paper-wrapped box has gold trim, with a fitted satin and velvet interior. The serving pieces weigh a total of 266 grams (including handles) and this set is in very good condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a full-length crack on each handle and some separation and splitting on the silver-handle junction on the salad fork. An ornate Victorian SP ink stand with ink pot, drawer and pen rest 1860. A wonderful mid-Victorian silverplated ink stand with a Feb. 20, 1860 registration date. This 11-1/2 x 7-1/2" stand features a pottery inkwell in a domed lidded brass holder mounted on the deck, which also has a brass pen rest. Besides the ornate hand-engraving, it also has a copper military button mounted with a screw and bolt. The shoulders have a high relief vine and berries design and it has scroll feet. It has a sliding drawer with pen and paper compartments as well, and it has the British registration key and the PP&S maker's mark for Padley, Parking & Standforth of Sheffield, England (operating from 1855-80).
