A Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee china teapot with enamel decoration circa 1897. This scarce royalty commemorative antique teapot celebrates the Diamond Jubilee of the reign of Queen Victoria. This black glaze Jackfield style English teapot measures 9-1/4" across the handle and spout and it stands 7" tall; it has a gold coloured stencil of Victoria on one side and the commemorative legend on the other. There are also thistles, roses and shamrocks and there are hand applied enamels in orange, white and blue. It is stamped in gold MADE IN ENGLAND 936 F on the bottom and this item is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, staining, losses, repairs or damage other than some allover crazing to the black glaze showing white in a few places and grey in most (see pictures); the lid is uncrazed. This set is in their Byzanta Ware series and depicts trees and flowers in a kaleidoscopic style view on the 9-1/2" console bowl and twin trees on the 7-3/8" tall candlesticks. A signed Kanyengeh 6 Nations large pottery vase signed Dee 1977. This Native Canadian pottery vase has the famous sculpted exterior and brown glaze with the turquoise blue interior. It features incised animals including a fox, bear, heron, moose, beaver, bird and turtle and it measures an impressive 7" tall. It is incised KANYENGEH POTERY DEE (Martin) 1977 with a vase symbol - other examples by Dee have the feather mark. This company hails from the Brantford area of Southern Ontario and their work is quite distinctive and sought after (the pottery is now closed). A Royal Dux Woman on Waterfall 440 porcelain figure from the 1912 era with superb detail. This beautifully modeled 15-3/4" Bohemian porcelain figurine depicts a nude woman perched on rocks over a waterfall. This figure has a matte grey glaze with gold highlights. It is replete with much bocage including branches; her face is attractive and finely painted. It has the orange Royal Dux applied triangle mark with an impressed 440 pattern number along with a painted 35 and it dates to the 1910 era. This item is in very good condition with no cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a small chip to the bocage and some darkening from soot (it was in a house that suffered a fire). A very early and scarce Arts and Crafts 8" American pottery vase in the Early Velmoss pattern, made by Roseville. This vase features an Arts & Crafts design with leaves; the glaze is a pleasant green with bluish and tan highlights, as well as relief molding. It has the bottom finish typical of this pattern, and it has remnants of the original pencil marks (otherwise this piece is unsigned). An antique 19th century hand painted porcelain cat figurine. This figure is probably Austrian or German and it is of heavy porcelain. It is very well painted and it measures 4-1/4" tall. It is unsigned and quite colourful with pink, black, green, orange, blue and gold. It is in reasonably good condition with no chips, losses, damage or repairs other than a tight hairline crack along the chest and a few small paint flakes on the back. A pair of stunning hand painted and gilt metal mounted 19th century Sevres style plant pots or jardinieres. This pair consists of two French porcelain 9-1/2" diameter and 7-3/4" tall planters with white glazed interiors and painted scenes on the exterior. The scenes include floral panels and 18th century couples on a deep turquoise blue ground with hand gilding. Each pot is mounted on a footed gilt brass stand, which has two side straps with lion heads with mouth tassels. Each strap is mounted to a top beaded collar anchoring the pot to the fittings. They have a blue painted Sevres style mark and the uprights are stamped AH on the interior. Condition is reasonable considering their age, with the following issues: there is minor gilding loss, one metal arm/upright has been broken in three pieces and it has been crudely soldered and re-broken, some of the screws are replacements and one segment of one support column has been refastened on a different part of the upper collar on one pot. One pot and fittings is intact, the other needs some professional brazing and refitting of the fractured column. The pots themselves are in excellent condition with no crazing, chips, cracks or repairs other than some minor wear to the gilding and some dulling of the interior bottom glaze from use in the past. We've seen the supports offered online on occasion (rescued from broken examples) so it may be possible to replace the damaged one. This handsome matching pair is in as-described condition as stated above.
