An Edwardian platinum emerald and diamonds ring circa 1910. This antique size 6-1/2 or 6.5 ring features a central medium-green genuine emerald with 4 genuine diamonds on each side of the emerald, a total of 8 diamonds. The diamonds are eight single cut diamonds starting at VS-1 clarity and G/H colour (several diamonds are chipped). This ring weighs 2.4 grams and it is marked 900 PLAT 100 IR'D. indicating a 90 per cent platinum and 10 per cent iridium precious metal content. It has an attractive slightly ornate design with some delicate engraved work on each side. It is in the described condition with no other cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than mentioned. The emerald is a recent replacement for the previous stone.
