A scarce Crown Devon England pink Chinoiserie lamp from the 1920s. This ceramic table lamp is in the Chinoiserie style in an attractive mottled pink with hand painted gold decoration. This English earthenware 12-1/2" tall lamp (body) resembles a covered jar. It sits on an ornate patterned gilt brass base and it has a double S style horizontal twin light socket set with pull-chains. It stands a total height of 25" and it has been rewired. The base is fastened tightly to the porcelain and we were unable to dismantle the lamp to show the marks. This unusual lamp is in mostly excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the re-wiring, the replacement of one of the dark patinated original sockets with a modern version, glaze crazing and the absence of a finial. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
