A sterling propelling extending pencil with a garnet top from the 1900 era. Worn on a watch fob or on a chatelaine, this sliding pencil was invented by Samuel Mordan however this example isn't signed or marked. It features attractive hand engraving and the garnet top tests as genuine. It has a gold plated loop for wear on a chain, it extends from 1-3/4" to 2-3/8" and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
