An unusual horseshoe shape shell cameo brooch in a gold filled setting circa 1920 - 1930. This vintage beautifully carved cameo was designed for a family with a passion for horse racing. It measures s 2-1/8" x 1-7/8", it has a safety catch and it has a swing-up loop for wear as a pendant. The carving is quite fine and the setting has a maker's mark of WRJ (W.R. Johnson, Toronto). This brooch is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
