An enamel sterling silver school ring from the 1930s 1940s from the Hanover High School, Hanover Ontario. Established in 1924 this school added "District" to the name in 1953 and amalgamated in 1968 to become the John Diefenbaker Secondary School. This 5/8 x 9/16" wide ring features the school crest with yellow and cobalt blue enamel, which doubtless are the school colours and it also has their school motto "ENTER TO LEARN GO FORTH TO SERVE". School rings haven't been made this way for many years. It weighs 5.7 grams, it is stamped STERLING with a maker's mark and a maple leaf in a C mark (denoting Canadian jewellery) and it is in very good intact condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs; there is some patination and rubbing from wear. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
