A 14k yellow gold birdcage or byzantine chain necklace weighing 15.5 grams. This ornate 20-1/4" chain is 1/8" wide and it has a lobster claw clasp. It has various marks including 585 14K and ITALY. We have tested the clasp, loop and clasp eye as well as the chain itself and all test as 14k gold. The Italians are renowned for their chains and this one is high quality with hollow links (hence the relatively light weight). It is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
