A George S. Culley watercolour painting of the Credit River, Ontario, Canada. This unframed 15-3/4" x 11-1/4" watercolour on paper is by George S. Culley (Canadian, 1905-1988) depicting a sluice gate on the Credit River in Melville, Ontario, Canada. This painting is in excellent original condition with no foxing, staining, bends, tears, losses, damage or repairs. It is signed G.S. Culley '64 on the lower right, and it is inscribed in ink in the artist's hand on the back "Sluice Gate Credit River Melville Ont.". Please note that there are some holes around the unpainted edge from the thumbtacks used by the artist to mount the paper to the easel, and pencil outlines of the image are clearly visible. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
