A 12k yellow gold Victorian hair brooch pin circa 1850 1880. This 1-3/8 x 1-1/8" brooch has fine hand tooling and engraving and it features an oval beveled glass window with a retaining bezel. It contains a curl of brown hair and it has an MCP monogram on the back. It has a later gate latch clasp which is stamped 14K (replacing the original c-clasp) and this pin weighs 5.7 grams. It is unmarked and tests as 12k gold and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs. A Barbour Silver Co. silver plated tilt kettle, stand and associated burner from the 1890s. It has a simple, elegant design and it stands 13" tall from the top of the ebony wood handle to the bottom of the stand's ball feet. The base is unsigned, the kettle is stamped BARBOUR SILVER CO. NICKEL SILVER 4002 (operating from 1892-98) and the associated burner has the Meriden stamp. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends or corrosion, however the handle supports have been resoldered to the kettle, the kettle and stand appear to have been replated and the flame smothering cap on the burner has broken off and is lost (but it can be repaired or the burner can be replaced with a similarly sized one). An M.J. Tobias Liverpool 18k & sterling engraved face Swiss pocket watch from the 1890s. This 14 size or 18 ligne watch is 1-7/8" across and it has a typical unmarked Swiss bar movement, a fancy engraved 18k yellow gold back cover with Swiss gold markings, a dust cover marked M.J. TOBIAS LIVERPOOL HANDS DETACHED LEVER FULL JEWELLED, and a very fancy engine turned and engraved sterling silver face with a village scene under a silver rimmed open face cover with a glass crystal. It has subtle gilded highlights, a single sunk second hand dial, blued hands and applied silver Roman numbers. Tobias started in Liverpool in 1805 and his family later expanded the watch business and started to export Swiss-sourced watches with varying cases and faces to the U.S. This face is one of a small variety of engraved faces we've seen - other configurations and cases were also made. This watch has been kept in a drawer in an estate for decades and it runs and keeps time for a few minutes and stops; it is very clean however it could use a cleaning, lubrication and adjustment and it is being sold as is without warranty. A Howard Sterling Co. 4 piece brush and mirror set from the 1890s. This high relief, decorative personal grooming set consists of the 10 x 5" hand mirror with beveled glass, the 9-1/4 x 3" hair brush, the 5-5/8 x 1-3/4" small clothes or shoulder brush and the 7 x 2-1/2" large clothes brush. This vanity or dresser set matches, it has the Howard marks, STERLING, 925/1000 and a patent date of 1892 (PAT. '92.). Not all pieces have all of the marks but they certainly match and each piece has a fancy script AGA (or AJA) monogram. A Victorian gold filled photo locket on a fancy rolled gold plate chain necklace from the 1870s 1880s. This necklace is unusual in that it is gold filled and not the typical sterling silver and it features yellow gold plate and a strip of fancy bordered rose gold plate setting off the design. It has a subtle matte finish and the rose gold is glossy and it opens up to show two (very faded) baby photos which both have annotations with names and the date 1900 as well as the paper lining, original glass windows and both bezels. The locket measures 2-1/4 x 1" (including bale) and it comes on a fancy 19" long and 5/16" wide rolled gold plated chain which has a springring clasp and a safety chain. The back of the locket is undecorated and this beauty is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than a small shallow dent on the back of the locket. A 19th century Scottish sterling silver banded agate pebble buckle brooch pin. From the early to mid-Victorian era, this large and dramatic pin measures 2-7/8 x 2-1/2". It has wonderfully striped and figured grey and white banded agate fitted stones with silver dividers and it has finely hand engraved and tooled decoration including a buckle, inner edge, decorated outer rim and an engraved pierced silver top. It has the original c-clasp and a loop for a safety chain and safety pin (absent). It is typically unsigned with no hallmarks and it would have been worn as a garter, kilt or sash pin. A Victorian gold filled seed pearls photo locket with a long watch chain necklace from the 1890s. This attractive oval 1-5/8 x 3/4" (including bale) locket retains the two photo retaining bezels and it has two instant relatives included. The back is undecorated and the front has a lovely X-style design with graduated seed pearls. It has a satin finish and it comes with a slightly later J.Co. 1906 15 YRS gold filled chain with a swivel. "15 YRS." refers to the guarantee on the chain's gold plating to last for 15 years under normal use (similar to that used on watch cases). The chain itself measures 48-1/2" long (sans swivel) and it can be worn doubled as shown or full length (it will hang 24-1/4" long). A Davenport 2614 Old Imari 2451 style pattern cup and saucer from 1870-1887. This wonderful fully hand painted English bone china 2-5/8" tall cup and matching 5-5/8" saucer has lush gold, cobalt and orange decoration. The pattern was later copied by Royal Crown Derby as "Old Imari" or "Traditional Imari" (in production from 1902-2014). This scarce cup and saucer has the Davenport mark used from 1870-87 and it is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, damage or repairs other than a tiny 1/16" surface glaze flaw or glaze crack. The cup rings true and on the top and interior edge the flaw isn't visible through the original gilding, which was applied over the flaw at the factory.
