Victorian cobalt glass oil lamp with etched chimney and enamel from the 1890s. This tall table lamp has a 10-1/2" deep cobalt blue base with an open cut pontil, an original Plume & Atwood Mfg. Co. 2-3/4" brass burner and collar and an etched glass 9-1/4" large glass chimney. The burner has a second 1897 renewed patent date and the burner and flat wick show no signs of use at all (no wick char or burner darkening) and there is no smell of lamp oil or kerosene. The body of the lamp has hand painted white, gold and yellow decoration with gold leaves and the chimney has a band of ribbons and torches. It stands a total of 21" tall and it is all-original and not a recent copy. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs however the shallow chimney acid etching has a few worn spots and the gold leaves on the base show some wear as well. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
