A sterling silver cherubs brush mirror & comb set 1890 to 1900. This wonderfully ornate Victorian period set consists of the 10" x 3-7/8" mirror, the 9-3/8" x 2-1/2" brush with natural bristles, and the 7-5/8" long comb. Each is hallmarked for Birmingham, England and they have the Thomas Hayes maker's mark; the brush year hallmark is 1890, the comb year hallmark is 1898 and the mirror year hallmark is 1900. It is quite normal for these sets to have slightly differing dates on the various pieces from the same firm, as they were assembled into sets for sale from existing stock, and sometimes pieces were purchased over time. All three have a script BETH monogram, and they are in very good condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor edge denting to the brush, and the replacement of the comb with a recent plastic one and a soldered repair to the mirror at the handle/mirror join. A pair of mid-19thC ornate Meissen style covered urns. This amazing and massive pair of mid-19th century French porcelain 19" covered mantle urns were made by M.S. Claus, France. They are fully hand painted and in the Meissen style, and both are extravagantly festooned with hand-formed and applied flowers and leaves. Each is topped with a similarly decorated lid, topped with a figure of a child. The colours are bright and vivid and they have the crossed swords mark for Claus and a 1777 pattern number. Each has had some restoration - the child with the umbrella finial has a repaired and repainted base and the lid has a large firing crack (on the interior edge and not visible when on display). It also has some gold wear to the lid's rim, and the base has a large area of restoration and painting to the upper rim and a firing crack to the outer shoulder. The other urn's lid has a similar interior firing crack, and the base has a similar repair to its rim as well (which also has a crack on the repaired area). Each urn has some minor expected chipping and losses to the flowers, and this pair is in very good/reasonable condition with a good appearance, and they could be completely restored if desired. A rare Clews Jasperware cream jug circa 1815-34. This pre-Victorian English 3-3/4" high milk jug is signed by Clews. Ralph and James Clews (Cobridge, Staffordshire) was in business only from 1815-34; pieces of Jasperware in imitation of Wedgwood were tricky to manufacture and as a result examples by Clews are quite scarce. This buff coloured example has applied bacchanalia scenes, with figures drinking wine and holding grapes. It has a grape-leaf border and a hand-formed spout. It has an incised CLEWS on the bottom, and it shows the typical firing cracks in the decoration typical of the era. This exceptional piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. A rare set of the Birth of Edward VII comemorative china 1841. This is a grouping of the rarest Royalty commemmorative souvenirs we have encountered - this is a large covered sugar bowl, creamer and two cups and saucers in English pearlware celebrating the birth of (future) King Edward VII in 1841. Given the title Prince of Wales immediately following his birth, this set features the Prince of Wales feathers and a scene with ICH DIEN ("I Serve") on a banner and depictions of the Princess Royal and the Prince of Wales. Decoration is in a transfer blue which is on the outside of all pieces as well as on the interior of the cups; there are Prince of Wales feathers on the inside of the creamer's spout. Interestingly, the finial has been attached with a bolt and screw assembly which has had glaze applied over it. All pieces are unmarked, the sugar with lid stands 7-1/4" high, the creamer is 5" high, the cups are 2-1/2" high, and the saucers are 6-1/8" across. The sugar bowl's finial has purple highlights and considering its age this set is in very good condition with the following issues: 1)sugar bowl - staining and crazing plus fading on the body, tight 1/2" hairline to rim of lid 2)creamer - fine overall crazing 3)cup 1 - remnants of faded and worn feathers at bottom of bowl and loss of blue leaving black on the interior sidewall decoration (probably from bleaching from tea) 4)cup 2 - wear to feathers leaving brown and blue traces, tiny rim chip to cup 5)saucers - excellent condition. A collection-topping prize for the Royalty buff. This set is in very good condition as described above. All
items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface insured tracked shipping to the U.S. starts at $32 (other spots may vary, air is higher) - tracking and insurance are included in shipping quotes. An Art Deco 14k white gold amethyst ring from about 1920. This size 5 oval solitaire ring measures 5/8" x 1/2" across the top and it weighs 4.2 grams. It is stamped 14 K with an arrow maker's mark. The amethyst is a genuine natural stone, is approximately 4 carats in size (estimated in setting by gauge). The elegant scroll and engraving owes as much to the ornate style of the Edwardian period. The stone has a slightly lighter space of color gradient just off the center as can be see in the blow-up view picture 4. We like to mention all details, it is not too noticeable in real life. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs.

A Chinese export silver 3 piece cruet set with spiders and lizards. This truly unusual and well-made three piece cruet set is in high grade Chinese export silver. Dating to the late 19th-early 20th century, this condiment set has the 2-1/2" high pepper shaker, the 1-1/4" high open salt dish and the 2-1/4" high lidded mustard pot with handle. What makes this set exceptional is the presence of very high relief applied spiders being chased by lizards. The mouths are open on the lizards and the detail is stunning; each piece is on three insect-like legs. Each piece has Chinese silver marks, not a mark I have seen before - but given the unusual use of lizards and bugs, this piece had the look of work by Chinese silversmith Luen Hing. I have not seen this mark attached to any of his known work, so this is merely a speculative opinion. The 3 pc set weighs a total of 115.9 grams, and there is no liner present in the salt dish. This set is in excellent vintage condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some indenting to two feet on each of the interiors of the mustard and salt pieces, and slight denting on bugs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. An authentic and vintage Dutch Delft blue and white 9-1/4" plate. This plate has a floriate design and it has the expected blue-tinged underglaze. This unsigned plate has an underglaze 8, and it is in fair condition with the loss of the glaze around the rim, some rim chips (with crude colour touchups), a glued bisected break and a y-shaped crack meeting at the bisected break. The glue is old-style yellow, and this plate is certainly worthy of restoration. All

A pair of so-called Whimsey glass vases c1900. Glass whimseys, or end-of-day glass, were made at the end of the day's glass production by glassmakers using leftover glass; these items were usually taken home and given as gifts. They are unsigned and the amber vase has a hook so it can be hung on a wall; the other sits on a table. A stunning hand painted Art Nouveau porcelain centerpiece 1890 1900. This true Nouveau table decoration is likely German or Austrian.
